Cats, Dogs, horses... what's the difference? For one thing, horses are a prey animal, willing to work with us humans! Amazing. By their intuitive nature and innate sensitivity, horses can provide facilitators with a window into the participants personality. The horses react to the stimulus through body language, and participants must adjust their feelings and behaviors to work  successfully with the horses.

No riding! 

And why? When we work with horses on the ground, we have the opportunity to step into their world, in their natural state. You will work along side the horses as part of your team rather than as a tool.

This way the horse can be it's authentic self and not be "on the job." This allows for the best and true reaction of the horse and the most beneficial way of learning for you.

If you aren't being pushed out of your comfort zone, you aren't learning. This is an opportunity to overcome your fears and build confidence with a new skill. We don't always get to pick our team members at work or our classmates, do we?

Absolutely! Our outdoor arena is nestled in a treed area sheltered from the wind. We have a warm indoor shelter for classroom activities as well as a bonfire for the cold days. Again, we are building a life skill - it is good for us to spend some time outside even when the weather isn't ideal - as well stepping into the natural world and all the energy it has to offer. (Of course, this is Alberta, and we all know there ARE those extreme weather days that you just have to reschedule your plans until a better day. We get that.)
